There are several different ways for painting home walls. Everything today is not just one simple neutral color throughout the house. The choices in colors are endless and you can have them tinted as well for you at the paint shop or home improvement store. I’ll explain a little on different ways to decorate your home walls with paint.

First thing you need to do is decide on a color scheme your going to use. There are several techniques to painting that some will use two different shades. If you use one of these techniques,be sure that for your base color you choose a darker color you would of used.
One of the home wall ideas is sponge or rag painting.
The base color gets applied first, and dries thoroughly. Then all you need to do is dip the rag or the sponge in the lighter color paint and drag or sponge the paint over your base coat to get the effect you desire. The nice thing is. If your not happy with the way any of the sponging looks you can repaint it with the base coat.
Another decorative technique is stamping or stenciling. Same as above you apply the base coat. You can just do a simple design with stamping and stenciling that make it have the effect of wallpaper. You can do many designs with these, like making the wall look like stone or brick. The best part of using the decorative technique, is you can repaint and try again till you get the effect you want.

Make your home living room warm, comfy, and inviting. The living room is where most entertaining of guests occur, so you want them to feel comfortable and welcome during their visit. There are a few tips I can give you to help you make that happen

First thing you want to do is figure out the layout you want. You want to have a focal point and conversational areas. The focal point will be for instance the television, fireplace, or a piece of art.
Your home living room furniture should be arranged around the conversational area and focal point. Take any clutter or things you do not need in that room. This will make the room look bigger. All the furniture should not be pushed right up against the wall. You want the seating close enough so that people can talk comfortably. You want the room to be able to sit at least six people. The seating and conversational areas can be defined with some area rugs. You can use patterned or plain.
Your largest piece of furniture should match the drapes or curtains. This helps design the background. Floors should be slightly darker than walls are. This gives the space a balance that pleasing. Have different types of lighting, for television, reading, or parties. Place live plants in the room. Do not use to many accessories. Now throw pillows to add the finishing touch.

The stuff that can’t be used as compost or recycled need to be put in the regular trash. BioBags are biodegradable unlike the regular plastic garbage bags. Another option to use is paper bags that are biodegradable also.
Some people might not think about their cleaning products when making the change to “green”. There are cleaning products that are sold that are eco friendly. You might also want to make your own cleaning products. Vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice are very effective and cheap household products that do wonders with cleaning.

Whether you building a new home or remodeling an existing home, when it comes to windows there are a few things you will want to know about them. There are differences between them. You will want to think about efficiency. Most of the heat that is lost or gained is through windows, doors, next to the attic, which is the number one place.

What are some differences between casement windows and double hung windows? One thing is that double hung windows are not as air tight as casement windows. The wood on double hung windows can also block your view.
You will want to check what the rating is on the window from The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). There should be a label on the window that will help you compare the efficiency between windows. There is the R-Value, that you will want to choose the highest rating in this and lowest infiltration loss. The U-Factor measures how much heat will escape from the window. You will want to pick the lowest U-Factor.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) tells you how much solar heat is prevented from getting in. You want a low number on these as well. Visible Transmittance (VT) measures the amount of light that can pass through the window. Ultra violet protection (UV) shows how much sunlight can pass through the window that will possibly damage or fade furnishings over a period of time.
You will also want to be sure to pick window covers that will help keep your home efficient also.
